A small batch of letters (3) addressed to Carl J. Weber about his review of John Paterson's The Making of the Return of the Native, an exhaustive study of Thomas Hardy's work Return of the Native. Included is a copy of the review. One letter is from Paterson to Weber, the other two are from Jack Stillinger of the Journal of English and Germanic Philology in which Weber's review appeared in April of 1961.
